Understanding the BESA Test Standard for Heat Interface Units – VWARTS and All
BESA (British Engineering Services Association) have published the first UK test standard for HIUs to enable independent testing. This new test standard is aimed at providing system designers with a robust, reliable and comparable set of HIU performance figures under typical UK operation conditions.
Accredited by The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), our seminar provides credits towards consulting engineers’ Continuing Professional Development (CPD). We will explore all aspects of the test regime during the seminar, and discuss how for the first time, designers and specifiers will be able to see the impact of a specific HIU on their network.
This is an informative and educational 60 minute CPD seminar, ideal for M&E consultants, contractors, and housing developers.
This comprehensive seminar covers topics such as –
- Heat Networks – Where are we now?
- How does HIU performance & sizing impact on heat network efficiency?
- BESA Test Overview
- Space Heating Test
- Dynamic DHW Performance
- The role of the Keep Warm / Stand-by Function
- VWART Calculation – A benchmark for HIUs
- Other Key Considerations
The seminar can be held at client’s premises or at the Evinox Energy offices in Chessington, and at a time convenient to you.
Our speakers are highly experienced in communal and district heating with relevant professional qualifications. A certificate will be provided to all attendees for obtaining CIBSE CPD points and refreshments will be supplied.
Evinox also offer a CIBSE accredited seminar that provides a general Heat Network Design overview. You can find more information here.
