YOUR CHOICE OF HEAT INTERFACE UNIT (HIU) IS A CRUCIAL ELEMENT OF THE SYSTEM DESIGN
With advances in technology and growing experience in system design, improved methods of controlling HIU’s and the primary network are available.
How does our Smart Connected Control work?
ModuSat® XR HIU’s feature Smart Connected Control, which includes advanced Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control logic, in combination with Pressure Independent Control Vales (PICV’s) and a fast-acting actuator.
Smart Connected Control provides full comfort for the end user, whilst also delivering important information regarding the operation of the system, which can be monitored, adjusted or regulated remotely over the internet using SmartTalk®.
The use of PICV’s also means only one valve is required for differential pressure control, flow modulation and full energy shut off. This reduces the size and weight of the unit, keeps maintenance costs to a minimum and increases functionality.
In addition, ModuSat® XR HIU’s are supplied prepayment ready with a room controller meaning there is no requirement for additional controls, sensors or equipment to provide remote monitoring of temperatures and flow rates or to switch the end user to a debt free Pre-Payment system.
Smart Connected Control can offer many additional benefits:
- Electronic control can be used to facilitate a 2-way communication network, which enables the heating and hot water system in each dwelling to be remotely metered, controlled, interrogated and tested. Find out more by visiting the SmartTalk® Page.
- DHW or HTG set-points can be altered remotely after the HIU’s have been commissioned, which allows the system operator to maximise the efficiency of the whole system.
- Provides extra comfort for the end user as support is available to change their settings to holiday mode or adjust the comfort mode settings via the internet.
- When our PaySmart pre-payment system is used, the PICV’s allow for the automatic disconnection of the heating and hot water when there is insufficient credit, as they also act as the energy shut-off valve. This removes the requirement to fit any additional external shut-off valves and the associated cost and installation time.
