Technical Design Manager

We are currently seeking a Technical Design Manager to complement our existing technical and commercial team.

The successful applicant will lead Evinox Energy’s technical design team, providing support to M&E consultants, contractors and internal sales teams in the correct design and application of Heat Interface Units for residential heating projects.

The role will also incorporate an emphasis on driving continuous product improvement and new product development, as well as managing Evinox Energy’s state of the art test facility with a view to supporting product testing in accordance with new and evolving HIU technical performance standards.

The Evinox Energy offer is comprehensive and consists of the provision of design services, supply of HIU's and plant room equipment, service and maintenance, metering & billing services and facilities management.

Summary of Main Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Be the technical (M&E) lead within the company, for the application and continuous improvement of Evinox’s wide range of Heat Interface Units;
  • Head up and oversee the work of the Technical Design team;
  • Provide expert advice and support to the Technical Services team to assist in resolution of post installation “system” issues;

 

  • Engage in and manage key projects in the new product development programme;
  • Ensure that Evinox’s products remain technically competitive in the marketplace in relation to competitors and prevailing technical performance standards;

Person specification:

  • Demonstrable relevant technical and practical experience with the application and specification of heat interface units for communal and district heating systems;
  • Familiar with the design principles, prevailing technical standards and industry best-practice guidance relating to heat networks;
  • Practical, on-site experience of working with communal and district heating systems will be a distinct advantage;
  • Experience of managing, a dynamic team in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment
  • Demonstrates high personal standards of professionalism and ethics;
  • Analytical in approach to problem solving;
  • Comfortable in a customer-facing environment and able to put across technical justification and reasoning at all levels of business;

 

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Batchelors degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or a related discipline;
Qualified as a CIBSE Certified Heat Network Consultant would be a distinct advantage;
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role with a manufacturer or contractor;
Very strong practical knowledge of low carbon heating technologies and their application.
